St. Cuthberts Care's 5p Bus
St. Cuthberts Care is operating a Mobile Clothes Distribution Project to reach out to people who are in need: the 5p Bus.
What’s the 5p Bus project?
The 5p Bus clothing distribution service provides:
- Nearly new clothes for people in need but in particular people who are homeless, seeking refuge, unemployed or in temporary accommodation.
- A mobile information point promoting access to other services.
- Opportunities for volunteers to support the project.
What’s the timetable?
The service operates five days a week and we advertise in advance when the bus will be in your area. Look out for the posters and leaflets providing information about the bus in your local advice/ help centre.
How much do the clothes cost?
There is a range of donated clothes available for children and adults including some school uniforms, outdoor clothing and formal wear. Unfortunately clothes cannot be given away for free, and a very small charge of 5p per each item is taken.
Clothing donations
If anyone has any good quality, clean clothes that are no longer needed, the bus will also accept any donations when in the area.
Volunteers
Volunteer workers to are always welcome help on the bus. If you would like to lend a hand please contact us on the telephone or when the bus comes into your area.
