CVS News

How has the Economic Crisis Affected your Organisation & the Local VCS?

There is no doubt that the current economic climate is affecting our member organisations.  We are often told by members how difficult it is becoming in accessing adequate funding to deliver their services or how they are having to lose staff due to funding cuts.

The impact of the recession and public sector cuts on voluntary sector organisations in the North East has been starkly outlined in VONNE’s “Surviving not Thriving” report, and the subsequent “Surviving or Thriving” report that tracked the impact of spending cuts on the North East’s Third Sector.

As your local support and development organisation, Wansbeck CVS is often asked to comment on cuts at a local level; we have therefore created a survey that will enable us to ascertain the impact the current economic climate is having on your organisation and the local sector as a whole:  www.surveymonkey.com/s/wcvs_sector_survey
