Safeguarding, Child Protection Training Course

The aim of this course will be of particular interest to those people who are part of a voluntary/community group working with children and young people in a paid or voluntary capacity.

We would also like to encourage Management Committee Members/Trustees to attend as they may find the legal issues pertaining to their roles and responsibilities interesting and useful.

The workshop will be delivered in a relaxed, informal way using a participatory approach aimed at raising awareness of Safeguarding issues and helping to alleviate anxieties surrounding the subject.

Course Objectives

  • Discussion around categories of abuse
  • Appropriate responses and actions
  • Explore why we need to have Safeguarding polices in place and how it protects children & young people as well as staff/volunteers from harm

This course will be facilitated by Leslie Hill and will be held at WCVS on 12th January 2010. It will be a full day course from 9:30am to 4:00pm and will be free of charge.
