Volunteering Northumberland Launch New Training Scheme
Volunteering Northumberland is launching a new innovative training scheme for voluntary organisations. We are offering free one hour taster sessions in training as an introduction to the scheme. The training is available to staff and volunteers of volunteer involving groups in one hour, easily digested chunks. A wide variety of subjects are available.
Organisations will be able to choose from a list of training options, put them together to suit their own needs, and Volunteer Centre staff will go into the organisation to deliver the training. So, a hospice might choose one hour of volunteer recruitment training for staff, followed by a session on confidentiality for new volunteers, in the morning, with file management training for both staff and volunteers, in the afternoon. Subjects and combinations would be entirely up to the organisations. We aim to provide flexibility and value for money. The cost of the bespoke training packages will be only £10 per person, per session, although some sessions will be free.
The taster sessions, which will include information on how the scheme will work, are free and will be held in Hexham and Berwick. On 9th June, there will be a session in Berwick looking at "Listening Skills" and on 13th June, in Hexham, there will be a session called 'Volunteer Support and Recognition'. For more information contact Terri on 07900 998 933 or Liz on 07884 414396.
