In September forum members attended a trip around Nortumberland which included stopping off at Otterburn Mill and Rothbury. Everyone who attended the outing enjoyed themselves!
Members of the forum attended a consultation event: "Building a Society for All Ages". This was a government consultation document where they wanted opinions and views from across the country. The North East region event took place in Durham Town Hall in October 2009. The event covered five main areas; Older People at the Heart of the Families, Having the Late Life You Want, Employment, Improving Financial Support and Better Public Support. The summary of the consultation will be published in early December 2009.
If you would like to become a member or find out more information about the Forum please contact Karen Cox on 01670 858688.
