Wansbeck Centre for Voluntary Service

Wansbeck Centre for Voluntary Service is a local development agency based close to the centre of Ashington which specialises in providing information, support and advice to voluntary and community groups throughout Northumberland.
As our mission statement suggests, we are dedicated to 'Supporting Communities, Enabling People' and we have been doing so since 1987.
We provide support to over 400 organisations and membership is free. In the past 5 years we have assisted organisations to access over £10m in funding and have recruited over 2000 volunteers.
Wansbeck Centre for Voluntary Service provides a range of services including project development and funding advice, training, and a volunteering brokerage and support services. Additionally we develop projects to meet identified needs and currently manage the Re:Action project which supports people to retain their independence.
Wansbeck Centre for Voluntary Service can also provide 'back office' services such as payroll & accountancy, and administrative services at low cost.
Our employability programmes provide a range of services to assist people back into employment by developing their skills, providing training and matching them with prospective employers. The employability team have supported over 1000 unemployed people moving them into employment.
