Project Development Service

Wansbeck CVS offers help, advice and training to groups and to individuals setting up or running local voluntary organisations or community groups. Areas where we offer assistance include:

How to start a community group
Developing projects
Registering as a charity
Employing and managing staff
Promotion and publicity
Running events
Legal, financial and administration concerns

Our work takes in local residents, voluntary groups and organisations, through out the Wansbeck area. We encourage them to work with other like minded groups, public authorities, professional agencies and the business sector to improve their local community.

Wansbeck CVS actively aim to involve the community in the development of the area in which they live. Community development through our Project Development Service provides a proven technique for developing more effective community activity. Through the Project Development Wansbeck CVS can help people, to overcome exclusion and to enable people to positively influence their local conditions.

We aim to provide a range of services, which will increase the strength and effectiveness of community life, improve local living conditions (especially for people in disadvantaged situations) and enable people to participate in public decision-making and to achieve greater long-term control over their circumstances.

We aim to achieve this by encouraging personal growth and learning leading to an individuals increased employability. We try to encourage the greater interaction of people, leading to the enhancement of their sense of community and generating a greater interest in local affairs. This in turn will result in a greater involvement with community groups in the area will, in turn, lead to positive improvements in the neighbourhoods in which they live. Ultimately this will lead to the 'authorities' or 'partnerships' increased understanding of the local community, and thus an improvement in their service delivery adding to the economic value of community and voluntary activity.
