Parish Plans for the Future
East Bedlington Parish Council is developing their Parish Plan. Consultation will start with two launch events one at Cambois Community Welfare on Thursday 31st March starting at 6:30pm and another at Bedlington Station Residents Building on Tuesday 5th April starting at 6:30pm. This will provide an opportunity for local people to have a real say in the future development of the Parish.
East Bedlington Parish Council has commissioned Wansbeck Centre for Voluntary Service to carry out this work with their constituents. To support this process a questionnaire will also be delivered to all residential properties in the East Bedlington and Sleekburn wards.
Focus group meetings will take place around the district throughout April and May to encourage as many people as possible to take part in the process.
Bill Gale, Community Development Manager at Wansbeck CVS said “It is very important that local people take up this opportunity to shape and influence the plan which will identify the parish priorities for the next five years”. East Bedlington Parish Councillors have designated a prize of £200 for the first questionnaire to be drawn at random from those completed and returned, with a further two prizes of £100 and £50 respectively.
Wansbeck CVS will also be setting up a steering group of local residents to help drive the consultation process forward. For more information on how you can get involved please contact Jenny Tindale or Stephen Humphrey at Wansbeck CVS on 01670 858 688
