The New Deal Voluntary Sector Option is managed by Wansbeck Council for Voluntary Service, based in Station Road, Ashington and covers the areas of Wansbeck and Castle Morpeth. Why Should I Choose The New Deal Voluntary Sector Option? You will gain:
What Will The Organisation Get Out Of It? The organisation providing your placement will benefit from your personal qualities not least your enthusiasm! In your six months, you will have a chance to make a positive contribution to the organisation, maybe helping with special projects or events. And don't forget, because all the placements are with voluntary organisations, you will be doing something worthwhile, making a difference for the whole community Placements A range of organisations offer placements and there are always a variety of opportunities for you to consider. If you are unsure about what you want to do, don't worry - you'll have plenty of time to think about your options and talk things through with your Personal Adviser. Placements currently available include:
Will I Be Out Of Pocket? No, you will receive an allowance on top of your benefit and money toward your travel expenses. What Experience Do I Need? No experience is required. Placements are flexible and are tailored to suit you. Don't worry if you lack work experience, but if you do you will have a chance to put it to good use and develop your knowledge in a new environment. What Qualifications Do I Need? No formal qualifications are required for any placement, although literacy or specific practical skills might be an advantage for some placements, we'll make sure your skill matches the needs of the provider. How Will I Know If The Placement Will Suit Me? We will do everything we can to make sure your placement is successful, and support you through out. We will aim to make sure that you get a lot out of it and enjoy it! When you come along to Wansbeck CVS we will have a chat about the sort of placement that might interest you and look at what is available. We can then arrange for you to visit a number of organisations - meet the people you'd be working with, maybe have a go at the work itself - to see if the placement suits you. You can then talk it over with your New Deal Advisor before making a decision. e-2-e –Entry to Employment e-2-e –Entry to Employment is a new pre-employment programme designed to help young people between the age of sixteen to eighteen years who are not yet ready for employment, modern apprenticeship or full time education. e2e brings together the life skills, preparatory training at a NVQ level.
